Saosin 1st Album [Saosin] review

Saosin is an American screamo and post-hardcore band. They are so important that anyone who listens to EMO or Screamo and does not know Saosin is a fake fun! Such is the case with Saosin's first album, the band's namesake, Beetle! No, not Saosin! The jacket is already a beetle. Despite the lame jacket, it's a great album! This is an album that you should definitely keep on hand. Especially, Voices is a masterpiece among masterpieces! Give it a listen!

Saosin Overview

Saosin's first album [Saosin] was released in 2006.
The vocalist, Anthony, who was with the band around the time of their first EP [Translating the Name], has left the band.

Even so, the new vocalist, Korf, has a similar voice to Anthony's, and I don't feel uneasy about the change of vocalist at all.

Overall, most of the songs are around 3 minutes long and are very easy to listen to throughout the album.

Songs on the album

Saosin contains a total of 12 songs.

  1. It's Far Better To Learn
  2. Sleepers
  3. It's So Simple
  4. Voices
  5. Finding Home
  6. Follow And Feel
  7. Come Close
  8. I Never Wanted To
  9. Collapse
  10. You're Not Alone
  11. Bury Your Head
  12. Some Sense Of Security

Two of these songs are singles.

  • Voices
  • You're Not Alone

Let's take a closer look at the songs included.

It's Far Better To Learn

The first song on the first album!
From the intro to the chorus, the song progresses quietly, but in the chorus, the song is sung with full-blown screamo-esque intensity.

The guitars are cool, and it's the very first song!

The end of the song is like a continuation of the next one, Sleepers.

It's Far Better To Learn

Sleepers

The song begins with the flow from "It's Far Better To Learn.

The sound in the background is technical, fast, and exciting, just like Saosin.

The roughness that was present on the EP has faded considerably, and the song has been baptized!

It's a hard-hitting song that would be acceptable to metallers as well as screamo lovers!

It's So Simple

As the title suggests, the song starts with a fairly simple riff, but it becomes somewhat technical in the middle.

The chorus is just furious! The scream is gone, but the chorus is still very cool!

If you copy this song and play it live or something, you'll have a blast!

There are many other good songs, but this is one of my personal favorites from Saosin.

It's So Simple

Voices

This is one of Saosin's most famous songs.
It starts off with a quieter sound and has a more relaxed rhythm than the previous two songs.

Instead, the melody of the chorus is excellent and very emo.
Despite the sound, the instrumentalists seem to be quite busy as far as I can tell!

This is a solid song on this album.

Saosin - Voices (New Version)

Finding Home

A song that should truly be called emotional hardcore!

The flow from the melody to the chorus is beautiful, and the song is relatively less busy than many of Saosin's more technical songs.

Instead, the sound is one of Saosin's hardest!

Finding Home

Follow And Feel

The song starts out with a very technical guitar.
This technicality is what you would expect from Saosin.

The chorus is less impactful than the other songs, but the riff has a huge impact!

If you are in a band, you will want to copy this song!

Follow And Feel

Come Close

This is one of Saosin's most popular songs.
The intro starts off with a lot of excitement.
The melody part is beautiful and impressive.

The chorus of the chorus is very well played.

The flow from the interlude to the chorus is also really cool!

I Never Wanted To

I personally love the flow of Come Close to I Never Wanted To so much, I want to hear it as a set!

This song is not as intense as the other songs, but it shows Saosin's pop style.

Personally, I think this song is so good that it could have been a single.

Although it is intense, I recommend this song to those who don't like heavy songs in this album.

Collapse

The heavy riffs are impressive.
The coolness of the guitar is fully expressed in this song.

In most of Saosin's songs, the rhythm section is often the main focus, but in this song, the guitar takes center stage! It is a song with a "I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Collapse

You're Not Alone

Like Voices, this song is also a single.
As you can somewhat guess from the title, this song is a ballad.

The chorus is a solid buildup, but this is the first time Saosin has done this? The Ballad!
The guitar in the interlude is a good one, the guitar that makes you cry.

I like to listen to this song when I feel down.

Saosin - You're Not Alone

Bury Your Head

This song was also included in the EP that was previously released only at live venues and through distribution.
Since it was included on the EP, it must have been written earlier.

It does not have a fast pace, but the guitars are heavy and it is more suitable for metallers than for hardcore lovers.

Bury Your Head

Some Sense Of Security

This song has a very similar atmosphere to Translating The Name from the first EP.
The way the song starts is very similar.

If you like Translating The Name, you'll love this song!

The end of the album is also made with the end of the album in mind, as it changes from a hard rock sound to a piano sound.

Some Sense Of Security

Recommended Songs

The classic! The songs are all very good.
Voices and Come Close are two of Saosin's best-known songs, and both are really good.

If I were asked to name my personal No. 1 song, I would say "It's So Simple," although the two representative songs are also hard to throw away.

Please listen to all the songs and find your favorite.
