Saosin is an American screamo and post-hardcore band. They are so important that anyone who listens to EMO or screamo and does not know Saosin is said to be a moguri! Saosin's second album is In Search Of Solid Ground. Compared to the first album, it's a little less angular and a little milder, but the emo emo emo is better! We hope you enjoy the emo!

Overview of In Search of Solid Ground

In Search of Solid Ground is the second album released in 2009.
Compared to the previous album, it is less rough and more emo!

It also ranked quite high in the sales ranking, coming in at No. 19 for the first time in the U.S.

Unfortunately, vocalist Koff left the band after this album.

  • Changing
  • Deep Down

Let's take a closer look at the songs!

I Keep My Secrets Safe

This song is based on a song called Keep Secrets, which was on an EP released before the second album was released.

The song was still in its infancy when it was released, but now it is solid and the melody has been baptized into this song.

I think it is the killer tune of this album.

Deep Down

This song has a sound that Saosin has never had before.
Saosin is known for its technical guitars and drums, but this song has a more rhythm-oriented sound with the guitars and drums.

Why Can't You See

This song was included in the previously released EP The Grey.
This one is basically the same as the EP.

The chorus of this song has a good momentum and is full of screamo feeling.

Changing

This song has a dark atmosphere, not unlike Saosin.
Personally, I think it is very AFI-like.

On My Own

This is a long song (5 minutes), which is unusual for Saosin, whose songs are usually around 3 minutes long.
You may think it is long considering the fact that most of Saosin's songs are short in terms of genre.

The bass is prominent in this song, but the pirouetting guitar in the chorus is very Saosin-esque!

The outro after 4 minutes is a strangely structured song that makes you think a different song has started.

The Alarming Sound Of A Still Small Voice

I personally feel the LUNA SEA flavor in the sound of this song.
For some reason, this song reminds me of the sound of Japanese Visual-kei.
Maybe it's just me.

Say Goodbye

The sound of this song is rather subtractive, which is unusual for Saosin.

Many Saosin songs are packed with a lot of technique, but in this song, the sound is more like a song than a lot of sound.

The rhythm of the chorus is quite unique, and it sounds like it would be hard to sing!

And it is interesting that the drums become electronic in the outro to change the atmosphere.

The Worst Of Me

The atmosphere is similar to that of the previous Finding Home.
Unusually for Saosin, it starts with a song without an intro.
This song retains the atmosphere of the previous album rather than the current one.

The melody of the chorus is easy to listen to, but the drums seem to be busy, which is also typical of Saosin!

It's All Over Now

I guess you could call it a power ballad.
It is a ballad-like song, but it has a cheerful atmosphere, and its sound is quite lively.

It's a song that everyone can enjoy.

What Were We Made For?

Personally, I think this song is the killer tune of this album.
It doesn't sound like Saosin at all, but it is very emo.

This song will not fade away even if you listen to it for years.
Personally, I would like you to listen to this song alone.

Is This Real

The Screamo! The rhythm and guitars are so cool!
It appears after a series of songs with a relatively slow tempo, so when you listen to it through, it's like, "This is it! I think this is a song that I would like to play.

It is a song full of a sense of speed that makes your body start moving on its own.

Nothing Is What It Seems

It is a ballad with beautiful arpeggios.
This song could be the ending of a movie.

It is a simple ballad, which is not often found in Saosin's music.

Fireflies(Light Messengers)

This is Saosin's longest song at eight and a half minutes.
Hardcore has a lot of short poles, so if you like hardcore, this might be too long and bore you!

I like long songs, though, because I also like visual-kei and progressive music.

The song itself is a laid-back ballad, as you can tell from its length.
In longer songs, the development of the song sometimes changes, but this song doesn't change much.

You Never Noticed Me

A rockin' number with solid guitars that's insanely cool!
It would not be surprising if it were the first song on the album.

The chorus is simple and easy to remember. I think there are a lot of people who would like to be a part of this group.

Recommended Songs

With the increase in the number of emo songs, the screamo lovers may have lost a little something.
However, I personally love emo songs as well, so all the best.

My personal favorite song is "What Were We Made For?
It's not a single or anything, but it's emo and I'm pushing it like crazy!
